Considered one of the most significant and widely recognized furniture designs of the 20th century, the Eames lounge chair and ottoman set a standard for comfort and elegance in modern furniture design. The rich veneer and supple leather suggest old-fashioned luxury translated into modern forms. Introduced in 1956, it's a treasured collector's item around the world.

It has a formal Japanese quality. It's comfortably at home in any contemporary setting. It has a straightforward, what-you-see-is-what you get Bauhaus look. Designed by George Nelson in 1946, it has become a modern classic. By the way, it's a bench. Or a table. You decide.

Comfortable and practical, this chair is slightly lower and has a wider seat and back than the molded plywood dining chair. Featuring a 5-ply seat and back, your choice of eight-ply legs and spine, or chrome plated steel legs and spine. Herman Miller launched seven vivid, new stains to the celebrated Eames Molded Plywood Lounge Chair color palette, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of its designer, Charles Eames. Applied to the birch veneer, the stains, accentuate its natural characteristics and complement today’s most popular color schemes.

Outer veneer comes in your choice of ply: walnut, black stain, red stain, yellow stain, white stain, light blue stain, orange stain, green stain, ebony, natural cherry and santos palisander.

With its slightly indented top and gently curved legs, it became a part of Herman Miller's collection when it was discovered in the mid-1940s at a showing in the Barclay Hotel in New York.
