Spoon is durable enough for the family room, yet displays abundant style for the dining or living room for get-togethers or impromptu meetings. Versatile enough to use with most chairs, the Kartell Spoon chair is an ideal accompaniment. Kartell® Spoon Table The Spoon Table is a folding light office table characterized by its extreme lightness and practicality. The structural surface is made of honeycomb aluminum and is only 15 mm thick. The finish is white laminate whereas the methacrylate edges are colored on the bottom so that the transparency creates a sense of depth. The thermoplastic legs are a guarantee of resistance and elasticity. The knee mechanism closing was developed for easy folding of the top and makes the Spoon Table perfect for living in small spaces and easy carrying. The leg-locking system requires no tools and works using only a slider eyelet. The Spoon Table comes in three sizes with legs and matching edges in three colors. Helping the Environment: •Kartell products use a wide variety of plastic materials, thereby reducing the use of living organisms, such as trees, which are difficult and time-consuming to replace. •Most Kartell products are easily recycled and product components can be separated to elements made of a single material to simplify the recycling process. Plastic components also carry clear identification marks to aid correct separation of different plastic types for effective recycling. Ordering & Shipping Information Ships within 1 to 2 weeks. One of the original goals of the company was to replace the traditional glassware in science laboratories with plastic. Focused scientific analysis of the properties of plastic, combined with design creativity, gradually led to the production of stylish plastic goods for the home market. In 1972, Kartell participated in the Italy: The New Domestic Landscape exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Many leading Italian designers in the second half of the 20th century have designed for Kartell, including Gae Aulenti (the Jumbo table of 1965), Achille and Pier Castiglione (lighting), Joe Columbo (the ABS stacking chair no. 4860), and Richard Sapper, who collaborated with Marco Zanuso on a range of colorful polyethylene children's chairs, which won a Compasso d'Oro in 1964. In the 1980s, Kartell began hiring more designers whose names were already widely known, including the great French designer Philippe Starck (who designed a number of products for the company, including the tubular steel and plastic Dr Glob chair of 1988). The Kartell Company has become synonymous with innovation, winning numerous awards throughout its 60-year history. Today, Kartell Italy utilizes a team of internationally acclaimed designers to produce accessible, unique designer household goods and furnishings on wish lists the world over. |
